The History

RE/MAX UK South was founded in October 2003 by Co-regional owners, Omer Zengin, Colin Flatman and Anthony Chamberlain. Having worked in the estate agency business for many years, they were disillusioned with the industry and the bad name that poorly trained novices and part-timers were giving the estate agency profession. They wanted to build a company where only full time professionally trained sales people were hired so homebuyers and sellers could be confident that they would receive the level of professionalism that a transaction of such magnitude demands. This had been the RE/MAX philosophy for nearly 30 years, so why try and reinvent the wheel, they approached RE/MAX in the summer of 2001 with a view to buy the whole region of Southern England, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

Continuous growth

The RE/MAX franchise network, now celebrating its 32nd year of consecutive growth, is a global real estate system operating in 53 countries. More than 5,400 independently owned offices engage over 100,000 member sales associates who lead the industry in professional designations, experience and production while providing real estate services in residential, commercial, referral, relocation, and asset management.

RE/MAX (Real Estate MAXimums) has over 31 years of experience in Real Estate, whereby the franchise concept of RE/MAX has been marked as the most successful in the world. RE/MAX is confirmed as the world's market leader by Entrepreneur magazine. RE/MAX occupies the 10th place in de Top 500 franchise organisations, making it the highest noted Real Estate organisation.

When looking at the "Low-Cost Franchises" RE/MAX is the highest noted Real Estate organisation on place 4. In comparison with the year 2004, RE/MAX has once again improved their placings, making RE/MAX the most noted, and best placed of all Real Estate organisation.

Network size

The revolutionary RE/MAX Concept of enabling real estate professionals to maximise their business potential has evolved into an organisation of more than 100,500 Sales Associates in 5,400 offices.

The most productive Agents

Internationally RE/MAX is the most productive organization the estate agency industry has ever seen. RE/MAX agents on average have more experience and sell more homes than any other agents in the industry. The RE/MAX system is setup so that agents equally share expenses of the operation. This means each agent has to be skilled enough to generate the income needed to pay a set fee every month, but in return receive up to 70% of the commission they generate. The Traditional UK estate agent is salaried with very little commission and no incentive to go that extra. Here in the UK the RE/MAX system was like a breath of fresh air and started to attract top sales professionals who could see the advantages of being affiliate with the worlds leading estate agency brand.
