Puccino's
Our philosophy Service is our pleasure; it is all that will ultimately distinguish us from our competitors. We treat each person as if they were our only customer by being attentive and showing an interest in them, not in a false way but by genuinely recognising them as an individual. Sometimes we overdo it and the person freaks out. Don't worry about this – some people just freak out easier than others. Humour is a very important part of the Puccino's philosophy; making people laugh brings them pleasure and makes us think we're all clever and funny. Add to this the unique atmosphere of a Puccino's store - if you've ever visited us you'll know what we mean - and you have a recipe for success.Target market Predominantly working humans who are young at heart (a common mental age between 20 and 40). We first saw Puccino’s at the franchise exhibition in Birmingham and were very impressed. We spoke to Lesley and went away to think about it. It didn’t take us long to realise that this was the business for us. Now we had to find the best place to set up shop. After a lot of looking we decided on Exeter. We moved to Devon in May and opened for business in August. It was the best thing we ever did - the quality of the product is superb. It’s hard work and lots of hours but extremely rewarding - better than we could ever have imagined!" Barry & Elaine Gardner, Cafe bar, Exeter "Running a successful Café bar requires hard work, long hours and dedication. You only get out as much as you put in. Getting people through the door is not a problem; the brand name has been established throughout the stations and high streets. The trick is to get them coming back again and again with their friends and families. Fresh food, good service, a friendly atmosphere and a relaxed professional approach is essential. Your staff must be aware that they have to provide excellent service willingly, always, no matter how tired or overworked they are! Lastly it is your personality and hospitality that wins customers and beats any competition. The customers come because they like Puccino's but most of all they are there to see you." Valdeck Sholt, Deli bar, Surbiton "The alarm goes off at 4am. I like to arrive early so that I can have everything ready for my customers. After 18 months they are more like old friends. You get to know what they like and have their order ready for them. It’s nice to start their day off right; it makes them feel special. We remember our first day, confronted with a hissing machine, pastries to bake, ordering from suppliers, wages and bookkeeping. We thought we'd never last the week! Well we did, and with Puccino’s a phonecall away, help is always at hand. In fact we will shortly be opening our second franchise. It’s hard work; you have to be dedicated. But it’s nice to be your own boss and the more effort you put in the greater the rewards." Chris & Steve Senior, Espresso bar, Twickenham top ![]() Key Info | ||||||||||||
