About Office Express Group

The original business was set up 12 years ago by Annette Gadd, and after eight years’ of continuous growth and development, she formed a limited company, giving it a new name – The Office Express Group – and moved to the business’s current location in Curdworth, Sutton Coldfield.

The Office Express Group began trading in 1999, with the specific intention of developing the business as a national franchise. After four years of expansion, investment, refining procedures and creating an advanced, bespoke software system, the franchise was launched on 1st January 2004.

Essentially, the business provides a ‘one-stop’ for all types of office and business supplies, printing, liveried workwear, safety products, including clothing, canteen and cleaning products. Success has been achieved by giving customers a friendly and personal service that is fast, efficient and reliable, with competitive prices.

Training

All franchisees receiving 4 weeks of initial intensive training both at the company headquarters and on-field.

Office Express Group’s unique on-going support package for franchisees includes an advanced bespoke software system. A substantial investment was made in creating this system, to provide immediate information about all products, availability, price and profit margin. It was designed specifically with franchisees in mind and to free them from onerous, time-consuming paperwork, so that they can focus maximum attention on their customers. This is an invaluable tool for everyone employed in the business and especially for franchisees.

Commitment to quality and service has been demonstrated by the achievement of ISO9002 registration (recently upgraded to ISO9000:2000). A culture of inclusion with all employees is encouraged, with a goal to achieve Investors in People recognition in the near future.

The franchise package costs £15,000 (plus VAT) and includes:
  • Four weeks of intensive training, both at the OEG franchise headquarters and in the field
  • Telemarketing, sales and customer service support for the first three months
  • Direct marketing support with the distinctive “Ollie the Octopus” branding for the first three months
  • On-going customer invoicing and credit control
