Background and Developments Custom Made Furniture was started in 1994 by the father and son team of John and Andrew Sills, to fill a gap in the furniture market for a truly ‘Custom Made’ service, unlike traditional furniture retailers. ![]() John and Andrew have over 50 years experience between them in furniture manufacturing. The first Retail Outlet was located at the front of the modern 11,000 sq. feet manufacturing facility at Grantham and following on the success of this unit a second Retail Outlet was opened in Lincoln in 1998. The first Business Licenced Outlets was opened in Doncaster in June 2000 and was set-up as a pilot model for other Business Licenced Outlets. top Why Custom Made Furniture?
