Budgens stores now cover more than 25 counties, including London, with over 800,000 square feet of retail sales space, 6,000 staff and serves over 80 million customers a year. With stores ranging from 2,000 sq ft - 10,000 sq ft we believe we can offer our customers a range and service that meets their specific location & lifestyle requirements. Throughout recent years, as more out of town superstores have developed and high streets abandoned by many of the major multiples, Budgens has continued to open stores serving the local community and to offer customers the opportunity to purchase excellent quality fresh foods with a comprehensive grocery offer within the convenience of their local neighbourhood.

Budgens commitment to offering the freshest foods means that our stores offer a depth of range that cannot be matched by other convenience stores and supermarkets of comparable size, supported by a guaranteed 6 day a week delivery, ensuring only the freshest fresh food reach our customers baskets. Store development also continues to focus high on Budgens list of priorities with an estimated 15 new stores opening every year in new locations including Sheffield, Harrogate and York early in 2003, plus existing stores being redeveloped and refurbished to ensure the best offer to our customers.

Where is the catch?

There is none, our concept is proving highly successful and has won a string of prestigious retailing awards. The standards being achieved by the franchise stores are now such that there is now so little differentiation between corporate and franchise operations. The number of Budgens franchise stores is approaching 40 and they are showing up to 45% growth since coming on board, with fresh foods – Budgens’ strength - proving the greatest growth area. You will have the support of a dedicated Business Development Manager who will visit your store on a regular basis to coach and advise your staff - and we will even offer up to four weeks training in corporate stores for key team members. Other benefits include financial and business-planning advice, advertising support, no joining or annual fee and a fascia paid for by Budgens.
